Anna Krauklis is a Riga-based visual artist working with photography, digital collage, and mixed media. Her practice explores memory, identity, personal histories, and the relationship between reality and imagination. Combining archival photographs, historical imagery, botanical elements, and intricate decorative structures, she creates surreal visual narratives that connect the past with the present.
My recent series, The Latvia I Never Knew, is based on original historical photographs collected in Latvia. Through digital collage, I reinterpret these images using traditional Latvian textile patterns, natural forms, and surreal elements, exploring a part of the country’s history that is also connected to my own sense of belonging.
